New translation, the Magna Carta

more impressive money management by ‘new’ labour

“We can’t even run a party piss-up”, said a high-level socialist spokesman.

No comment on whether Tony the Bliar is liable now he’s skipped town!

“Senior officials in the Labour party, including Gordon Brown, could become personally liable for millions of pounds in debt unless new donors can be found within weeks, the Guardian has learned.

“The party has five weeks to find £7.45m to pay off loans to banks and wealthy donors recruited by Lord Levy, Tony Blair's former chief fundraiser, or become insolvent. A further £6.2m will have to be repaid by Christmas - making £13.65m in all. The sum amounts to two-thirds of the party's annual income from donations.

“The figures are a conservative estimate as they do not include interest that will also have to be paid. A Labour source said that although the total debt was listed as £17.8m on the Electoral Commission website, the true level, with interest, was nearer to £24m.”

incredible! a labour socialist suggests the unthinkable - cut government spending and cut taxation

That’ll go down well with Gordon Brown the Clown and his merry monkeys.

Obviously, ‘New’ Labour is getting so scared of David Cameron, they’re even considering trying to outmaneuver him by running a Tory administration.

“Politics is about both measures and men. Labour is over-obsessing about one man instead of asking whether our measures make sense. Any prime minister in office today would feel the voters' anger as they see their cherished plans to spend their own money as they see fit destroyed by rising prices combined with the insatiable greed of the state in all its manifestations to take the people's money for its own, often incompetent and counter-productive ends.”

on attempts by congress to evade reality

“I was watching the Big Oil execs testifying before Congress. That was my first mistake. If memory serves, there was lesbian mud wrestling over on Channel 137, and on the whole that's less rigged. Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz knew the routine: "I can't say that there is evidence that you are manipulating the price, but I believe that you probably are. So prove to me that you are not."

“Had I been in the hapless oil man's expensive shoes, I'd have answered, "Hey, you first. I can't say that there is evidence that you're sleeping with barnyard animals, but I believe that you probably are. So prove to me that you are not. Whatever happened to the presumption of innocence and prima facie evidence, lady? Do I have to file a U.N. complaint in Geneva that the House of Representatives is in breach of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights?" ”

‘new’ labour ‘eu’ database for ‘everything’ and everybody

Socialist Labour wants to track every action of every citizen.

Socialist Labour are attributing their action to the ‘EU’.

Tories suggest they don’t agree.

“A massive government database holding details of every phone call, e-mail and time spent on the internet by the public is being planned as part of the fight against crime and terrorism. Internet service providers (ISPs) and telecoms companies would hand over the records to the Home Office under plans put forward by officials.”

“ The proposal has emerged as part of plans to implement an EU directive developed after the July 7 bombings to bring uniformity of record-keeping. Since last October telecoms companies have been required to keep records of phone calls and text messages for 12 months. That requirement is to be extended to internet, e-mail and voice-over-internet use and included in a Communications Data Bill."

“ David Davis, the Shadow [Tory/Conservative] Home Secretary, said: "Given [ministers’] appalling record at maintaining the integrity of databases holding people’s sensitive data, this could well be more of a threat to our security, than a support.”

vile child treatment and the lame reponse of socialist government employees

“A seven-year-old girl has died after apparently suffering starvation. Neighbours claim to have seen Khyra Ishaq with other children grabbing at bread that had been thrown out for birds.”

“ A Birmingham City Council spokesman said: "We are deeply saddened by the death of this child and our sympathies go to the child's family and friends at this difficult time.”

The social workers vote socialist Labour, and they really really care. The only problem is they are mostly useless or worse.

Once upon a time, socialist Labour convinced non-thinking people that they should vote Labour, and that Labour would play Robin the Hood and steal from the ‘rich’ and give it to the ‘poor’. And so the gullible voters gave them a chance and, just like the present government circus, they sure stole from the ‘rich’. Only trouble is, that as ever, they wasted and wasted and wasted. And as usual, the poor lost out.

There was a Tory [Conservative] poster in those days - “Labour cares, but cannot afford to help the poor”.

The ‘social’ ‘workers’ ‘care’, but just like ever, socialist Labour is incompetent. Likewise, the socialist ‘workers’ ‘care’, but they don’t deliver. As usual, Labour is wasting on a monumental scale.

And still they cannot actually help. They do not ‘help’.

As Ronald Reagan said,

“The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, "I'm from the government and I'm here to help.” 1976

Socialism is a serious mental disease. It is based in wishful thinking and false psycho-logic. Socialism creates dependents, not adults. It is in its nature.

Labour cares, but it never ever delivers.

If you want a caring surgeon, vote Labour. If you want a competent surgeon, avoid Labour as you would avoid a poisoned well.

‘new’ labour still going even further into the tank - latest poll

“The Tories had 45% of the poll, up one on last month, with Labour on just 25%, down three, and the Liberal Democrats on 18%, up one. If repeated at a general election, this pattern would give Cameron more than 400 seats in the House of Commons and a majority of about 150 over all other parties.”

The results of the poll in detail [7-page .pdf] makes utterly dismal reading for socialist Labour, but brings hope to the UK.

obarma radically changes his stance on iran to get closer to the bush position

A clear change, despite surrounding his change of stance with tap dancing, a slew of fancy steps, and arm waving to distract from his radical sideslip. This is the critical sentence :-

“It's time to present Iran with a clear choice. If it abandons its nuclear program, support for terror, and threats to Israel, then Iran can rejoin the community of nations. If not, Iran will face deeper isolation and steeper sanctions.” [Quoted from msn.com]

Of course he has, as a coward, left out any definition of just what he means in the real world by “steeper sanctions”.

Does Obama mean that he will speak severely to Iran when he sits down with the lunatics in Iran? Or will he go even further and raise his voice?

Of course, he could mean he’ll nuke Tehran if they do not stop acting as a rogue state.

Typical of the dishonest politician that he is, Obama makes vague noises which fools will read whatever way they wish.

The moonbat Left will doubtless be ‘thinking’ in terms of a gentle “speaking to”.

Whereas gung-ho hawks will be more inclined to think in terms of a severe “seeing to”.

Perhaps, someone, one day, will ask him to be specific. Then Moveon.com and the rest of the moonbats will doubtless raise their usual cackle about ‘racism’ and demand that the questioner shut up and worship the Obarmy rhetoric instead.

And Obarmy will give the world another rousing chorus of:

Yes, we can - yes, we can - yes, we can.

on selecting a viable democrat candidate, continued
[following on from will hillary stand against obarma as a patriotic duty?]

  • In West Virginia, Hillary won 2.57 votes to 1 against Obama.

  • “However, if Clinton does not win the Democratic Party nomination, 29% of Democrats say she should run an Independent campaign for the White House [...].” [Quoted from rasmussenreports.com]

  • Hillary currently has more popular votes than Obarma:

Popular Vote (with Florida [FL] & Michigan [MI])
    Obarma: 16,680,827 47.6%
    Hillary:   16,710,298 47.7%
    [Quoted from realclearpolitics.com]

Thus, Clinton is ahead by 29,471; +0.08%

No wonder the Obarmy camp is in increasing panic, wanting her out.

by the colour of their skin

Obarma’s mentor:

27 April, 2008
“ Last week, Rev. Jeremiah Wright told the NAACP that "European and European-American children have a left-brained, cognitive, object-oriented learning style" whereas "African and African-American children...are right-brained, subject-oriented in their learning style."

“Before making such generalizations, ask yourself whether you want even four little children to live in a nation where their brains will be judged by the color of their skin.” [Quoted from slate.com]

And then there is Martin Luther King:

28 August, 1963
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the colour of their skin but by the content of their character.”

will hillary stand against obarmy as a patriotic duty?

In view of the obvious problems with Obarma’s judgement and dubious values, is it possible that Hillary is continuing to oppose Obama as a patriotic duty?

Will she see it as her duty to endorse McCain, rather than letting Obarma into the White House, or perhaps to stand against McCain, as an independent, in the last analysis?

The idea that Obarma could be an able president is quite ludicrous when he has ‘policies’ as follows:

  • abandon our friends in Iraq,
  • attack our allies in Pakistan, and
  • appease our enemies in Iran.

The idea that a president could have heavy attachments to a black power ‘church’, friendship with an unrepentant terrorist, and involvement with Rezko (presently on trial for corruption) is the stuff of fiction, not of serious politics.

Is Hillary, as a patriot, perhaps putting her country above her party and above her attachments as a socialist?

As the great statesman, Churchill, said, his loyalty was first to his country, secondly to his constituents and thirdly to his party.

In the UK, much of the socialist Labour Party used to be patriotic, despite many of them being card-carrying reds; whereas now, they are interested only in getting to the trough.

Are things still better than that in the USA?

Or is it just a dream to hope that the socialist Hillary will have such high ethical standards, and surprise the country by proving herself a principled patriot?

government figures: uk method of calculation

It is government, or Prime Minister and ex-Chancellor Gordon Brown the Clown, who rules the fake definitions of the various financial indicators, such as that for inflation. The statisticians merely run the numbers.

Here is a simple analogy of government calculations:

“We need a measure of temperature, but it must look good and put us in a good light.”

“Well minister, do you want it to show a high or low temperature for Britain?”

“Oh, a high one, of course I want people to come to Britain on their hols and spend lots of money here.”

“Alright, minister. How will it do if we measure the temperature at 14.00 each day and call it ‘The British temperature’.”

“Yes, that sounds fine to me. Get to it.”

10 years later....

“People are not coming and spending here any more. AGW has driven up ‘The British temperature’ to an average 45°C. What can I do?”

“Oh, that’s easy, minister. We change the definition time to 18.00 each day and call it the “British Holiday Temperature. Oh, and by the way, I’ll need a thousand more staff and a juicy rise. Is that alright?”

“Certainly old chap. You’re worth every penny. Perhaps your wife would like us to throw in a knighthood.”

barack v. hillary, democrats v. republicans - compare and contrast

Hillary Clinton is offering coherent policies for which she is arguing cogently. That readers or myself may regard those policies as less than long-term sensible is not the point.

I do not want to see Republicans getting a free ride, as they will do with another joke candidate like Barack Obarmy.

There are fundamentalist elements in the Republican Party, just as there are in the Demogocrats (in the latter group to an extreme, almost deranged, extent). Obarma has only one hope - to gain the presidency as a rabble rouser on a wave of mindless emotion.

A Hillary presidency would be essentially sane, even if you may regard it as misguided. An Obarma presidency would be a setback for civilisation.

The United States of America is no ordinary country.

Clinton One did much good for America, even if he was weak on international policy. Bush Two, in my view, will be regarded by history as a great president and a great man.

The tension between the two visions, Republican and Democrat, bring a balance which is productive for all.

The disgusting prurience that is endemic among the Republican Party in the likes of Keyhole Ken [Starr] and Bill O’Reilly is offset by the extremes of political correctness and mental superficiality in the left wing. Neither party are wondrously sane at the edges.

It is only the conflictual tension that improves America and the planet.

All Obarma can offer is “Yes, we can” and much other empty cant.

That Obarmy is much far down the Leftist road is very sad. Leftism is a slippery slope, it is intellectual tripe, it has no serious grasp on reality. His candidacy is doing much harm to America and particularly to ‘blacks’, while he is an intellectual cypher. He is a creature of Wright and the rest of the moonbat shambles.

Obama has very little independence of mind. He is a groupie with a big mouth, not an independent thinker. That is part of what makes him such a political naïf and nuisance. He is hardly to be listed as a responsible adult.

Some may (and indeed do) even regard him as a sweet boy, but that is not a description of presidential material in a difficult world. As said above, his candidacy is doing great harm to ‘blacks’, and I fear that harm will not easily be mended.

In the presidential election campaign, I would prefer a real contest of points of view. Obarma cannot provide that. Hillary can. Obarma only offers vacuous idiocy, an idiocy that appeals to children and ivory tower faux-intellectuals.

As long as America remains essentially sane, Obarma will be washed away in a tidal wave, just as previous foolish candidates proposed by the Demogocrats.

The Republicans voters had the sense to winnow out their own extremist and dopey candidates, despite the whining of the likes of Ann Coulter and Sean Hannity.

The Demogocrat Party appears to be, at present, in hock to fools on the extreme left. For all the babble, the Republican Party is still sane at the roots.

a heavy attack on iran should be carried out this year

I have many times been asked if we should attack Iran. Until now, I have said that I think the time is not yet ripe. My position is now changed.

A long, heavy bombing attack should be in the pipeline to smash the Iranian military capacity during this year.

A strong warning through back channels may be a precursor, but I am not much concerned with that. In reality, plenty of warning has been given in responses to the continuing contempt and foolishness from the nutcases in Tehran.

Clearly, they are daft enough to try to play the fool right down the line. So it is time for a serious ‘message’ not subject to their takeyya and playing the innocent!

“Recent British and American intelligence suggests that Iran has exported Hizbollah's technology to Iraq and Afghanistan, where it has been responsible for the upsurge in roadside bombs. (Most of the 51 American fatalities in Iraq last month were victims of such devices.)

“Last year, British special forces intercepted two lorries crossing from Iran into Afghanistan that contained 50 such bombs and timers; last week a senior US military official said that the Revolutionary Guards' elite Quds Force had recruited Hizbollah experts to train Iraq's Shia militias at camps inside Iran.

“Intelligence estimates suggest as much as 90 per cent of the hardware being used by insurgents in southern Iraq originates from Iran. Iran's escalating involvement in confronting coalition forces has prompted John Bolton, America's former UN ambassador, to call for US air strikes on Iranian camps training and equipping insurgent groups.

“With American troops now fighting alongside British forces based in southern Iraq, the prospect of the coalition becoming involved in direct military confrontation with Iran becomes more likely by the day. The Iranians are terrified the US-led coalition might turn Iraq into a success story, and are doing everything in their power to prevent it. Coalition commanders are convinced the only way to prevent the Iranians from undermining the coalition's hard-won gains is through direct military confrontation.” [Quoted from telegraph.co.uk]

north korea: bush administration cleaning the mess left by demogocrat appeasement

After freeing maybe 100 million from dictatorships and steadily rolling back the dictators Bill Clinton appeased, another step forward:

“North Korea turned over key nuclear weapons documents to a visiting U.S. diplomat Thursday, a senior State Department official said. It was a step toward the Bush administration's goal of a full accounting of the isolated regime's nuclear past.”

Now Barack Obarma wants to go back to Demogocrat business-as-usual.

So let’s summarise Obarma’s brilliant foreign strategy. It amounts to:

  • abandon our friends in Iraq,
  • attack our allies in Pakistan, and
  • appease our enemies in Iran.

socialist labour in a half-blind panic as they scrabble around for a third target for cameron

As I have long stated, removing the socialist coup in the Tory party will make defeating ‘new’ Labour a pushover. That change is now becoming well established.

Naturally that is now the end of socialist Labour.

“The most devastating finding of the poll is that 55 per cent of Labour voters believe that the party would be more likely to win the next general election if Mr Brown resigned "to make way for a younger, fresher, more charismatic alternative." ”

“The number who trust Mr Brown and Alistair Darling most to deal with economic problems has fallen to 30 per cent, down from 43 per cent in mid-March and 61 per cent in early September.” [Quoted from timesonline.co.uk]

Meanwhile ‘new’ Labour will try to plaster over the cracks. Here, Matthew Parris on the ‘new’ Labour ‘message’:

  • wake-up call
  • message from the electorate
  • take it on the chin
  • listen to voters
  • learn lessons
  • heed concerns
  • need for change
  • get back in touch
  • sharpen up the act
  • show contrition
  • find a new narrative
  • feel their pain
  • show humility
  • understand more
  • blitz of initiatives
  • sense of purpose
  • simpler messages
  • sharpen the argument
  • clearer sense of direction
  • relaunch/refocus/rediscover/
  • redefine/repair/refresh/reshuffle/rethink/renew
  • begin fightback
  • still two years left

And what about David Cameron? How is he measuring up?

David Cameron is brighter than Margaret Thatcher, but has a somewhat lesser mess to clean up because of Maggie Thatcher’s earlier work. He will be more than 10 years younger than Maggie was when he enters no. 10.

Cameron is educated more than 30 years later, in an era of ginormous progress.

I would expect him to have a more steady judgement and a greater ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Because of this, he has a more complex and, thereby, much better grasp of the modern world.

He has very great potential to improve Britain.

the setting of energy policy - biofuels: a study in politics as usual

“Soaring food prices and starving children provide a stirring backdrop to Europe's debate on its biofuels targets, but the big businesses of farming, forestry and automotive could have a heavier influence on policy.”

“Densely-forested Scandinavia could then take the lead, providing Europe's greenest transport fuels, with typical carbon savings of around 80 percent.”

clown now stealing more for his clients’ pensions than the payers can afford for their own pensions

“For 11 years, Labour has sucked revenue from the productive part of the economy so as to engorge the unproductive part. Now, it has reached the dregs.

“In his recent book, David Craig has calculated the amount of extra tax raised by this government since 1997: an almost unbelievable £1,229,100,000,000."

Marker at abelard.org

“There is, as those oriental religions would recognise, karma in all this. Brown is chiefly responsible for the shift from the entrepreneurial to the state sector. Private sector workers are now paying less into their own pension funds than they are paying in tax to guarantee the pensions of public sector workers who have already retired: £17 billion a year as against £20 billion.”

‘New’ Labour’s real priorities - tax, tax and tax.

“Tens of thousands of families will have to pay up to £245 extra a year under new road tax rules after a covert government decision to include cars up to seven years old.

“The Treasury admitted to The Times last night that it was quietly abolishing the exemption for older cars from the highest rates of vehicle excise duty. This means that owners of larger cars bought since March 2001 will find that their road tax will rise steeply from next April.

“The increases are being introduced in two stages, with many owners who are now paying £210 a year being charged £300 in 2009 and up to £455 in 2010.” [Quoted from timesonline.co.uk]
